Crane Swing Stops
Designed to be a positive means to prevent inadvertent contact with power lines, ensuring safety and OSHA compliance. I designed, tested and worked with manufactures on different models to be used with various models of cranes. The stops were deployed in the field with success, having saved inadvertent contact on a few occasions.
Non-Destructive Testing of Wire Rope (NDT)
Some crane wire ropes were prematurely failing. In response, I developed and created the magnetic testing program for crane ropes. It allowed us to better predict when a rope was beginning to fail so that replacement could be scheduled, therefore minimizing unplanned down time.
